Stay Tender
I strive to convey compassion and growth through tenderness with each piece I create. Endlessly inspired by nature and its connection to the human form, I’ve visited many mediums beginning with charcoal and graphite, and then moving on to acrylic, watercolor, and ink. I’ve dived into more manual work such as linocuts and stamps; Recently I’ve returned with new knowledge and experience to the crisp allure of ink drawing as well as digital d, combining simple images with complex textures in each piece.
Art has been my constant companion throughout my life. In childhood, the times I was seen without a sketchbook and pencil were few and far between, however, when it happened you would find me improvising with anything from candy and straw wrappers to blades of grass and dandelion weeds. This compulsion to create only grew as I did, helping me navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. With charcoals showing me the wide spectrum of emotion, paints bringing out boldness and spontaneity, and photography teaching the value of looking at things from different angles — each new medium instilling more lessons to take along and apply to future creations.
My passion to create is integral to my interactions with the the world and those around me.
